adidas by Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2015 Sneaker Collection

I’m guessing a sweet and swift visit to Nationwide to take out a mortgage to afford these bad boys is indeed needed. I need to get rich and famous soon!

Into The Culture

First seen on the feet of the models during Raf Simons‘ runway show during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the Belgian designer’s adidas footwear collaboration for Fall/Winter 2015 is previewed in the following images. In its 5th season, the inspiration is taken from outer space with a vintage astronaut suit as the creative starting point. That particular aesthetic is seen in two new silhouettes, the Response Trail Robot and the Ozweego Robot, featuring both metallic and matte materials, as well as machined details, to call to mind astronaut suits and backpacks. Those models are joined by the Stan Smith, Ozweego II and Response Trail II in a wide range of colors that one would not find in the main adidas Originals collection. Look for the the adidas by Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2015 Sneaker Collection to hit retailers mid-July.

Designer Tung Vo from wings+horns and Reigning Champ talks about upcoming collections in 2015

TEAM YELLOW

Vancouver’s weather during the winter months are notoriously somber, however, local brands wings+horns and Reigning Champ have been able to successfully merge practicality and style in its environment. Tung Vo is the creative director of CYC Design, the parent company of aforementioned labels.

Recently, Complex was given a chance to speak with Vo about a number of topics, including the similarities between his two brands, the inspiration behind his 2015 fall/winter collection and the city of Vancouver as a muse. Following a number of collaborations, the designer believes this year will be a year to “focus on the brand.”

Read the excerpt below and head over to Complex for the full interview.

Let’s backtrack to wings + horns’ Spring/Summer 2015 collection—your first collection for the brand. What did you want to do differently?

I think just to make it more rugged. Not to say that it wasn’t rugged before, but just hone…

Olivier Rousteing: The New Leader of The Modern Fashion Industry?

Style Connoisseur

We all know at least one person who’s been dubbed a social media junkie; at times it can become a little over whelming receiving their endless feeds on your accounts. However, there are certain individuals who you can make an exception- and Olivier Rousteing is one of them. The (unbelievably chiseled) creative director of Balmain is set to change the general preconceptions of the fashion industry, and the proof is in his Instagram feeds.

It’s safe to say the 28 year old has a lifestyle that many would crave for. And as a result has single handily created a strong and entertaining media frenzy, with his feeds constantly filled with glitz, glamour and constant selfies with models and celebrities. But it’s important for him to stress that the cause of all of this extravagance has all been due to hard work and solid experience within the industry.

My new babies…

So a small company you may have heard of, called ‘Nike’, released a new set of trainers in 1991 called the Nike Air Huaraches. These are meant to be a homage to the Mexican running shoes, but cooler. Only recently have they started becoming hot in streetwear fashion, and I’m in love with them!

So much so I forked out a whopping 120€ of my hard earned Christmas money… and here they are!

HUARACHE

What I like the most about them is the neoprene unibody built in with the super soft sole of the trainers, giving it the most comfortable ride I’ve personally witnessed. I may have to start saving up for my next pair now, maybe a triple white?

So what do you think of them then? Reckon I’ve been an absolute mug in buying these FootLocker exclusives… or have I just bought the hottest sneakers out there at the moment?

Hello world!

Hi, the name’s Casey, and I’m from Gibraltar.

So, erm, what is this then? I’m guessing this is intended to be a lifestyle sort of blog, a self centered account of my daily thoughts, purchases and adventures. Just starting this to see how it pans out and where it takes me.

Why start a blog now? Well I’ve been through a lot in my life and I sure as hell don’t want to go through my Facebook to relive those good [and bad] moments… plus there’s nothing interesting there apart from pug videos and pranks shared from The Lad Bible…

Being from small cozy Gibraltar, leaving was the biggest thing for me. Yes, I go back for Christmas, and yes, I go back for summer [man can’t stay white for too long] So maybe this blog will be about what I’m encountering, learning and doing whilst I’m away? Who knows…

Damn, this blog has started really mysteriously, sorry about that.
